In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Johns Creek; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Georgia are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday. Johns Creek is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Johns Creek follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The beef and noodle soup (it’s like a better ramen), chicken lo mein, and pot stickers are so good! Their hand made noodles and house sauces are incredible. Nothing is your canned Chinese food. It’s so much better and still affordable. This is our new go to spot. Can’t wait to try the other dishes the owner told us about.

They should honestly rename this place to 'Papa's Masterpiece. I’ve ended up eating here three times in a row because the food is just that incredible. On my first visit, the Jajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk instantly hooked me. I went back the next day for the Kkanpunggi, and the balance of sweet, savory, and spicy completely blew me away. By my third visit, I had to try the dumplings, Jampong, and their Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup—and once again, every single dish was absolute perfection. The dumplings are amazing as expected from the name, but the chef’s skill across the entire menu—from the noodle dishes to the fried entrees—is next level. It’s one of those rare, dangerous places where trying just one dish makes you want to order everything else on the menu. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Made the trek from roswell for dumplings and wasn’t disappointed! Great day for soup as well. Second time this month where I’ve wished that menus has more details for neophytes. Some folks were ordering generous sweet and sour and fried entrees that I couldn’t identify on menu but would like to try next visit.

Dinners with Dad, episode 817…was supposed to be a ‘light’ dinner but you know how it can be when trying out a new spot! Finally, a place to get decent jajjang and jampong in the Johns Creek area! Dumplings (boiled and fried), Kkangpongi (fried chicken pieces), Beef Noodle Soup, all delicious! Tiny place, so expect a little wait during busy hours but as good as the food was, the gentleman working the front is fantastic! Not only with us (he told Jeanie and I that dad was a regular and remembered part of his order) but with every single guest that came in he welcomed them like they were family…there were Americans, Indians, Chinese, Hispanics, and Koreans dining there…if you’re in the area, definitely check them out!

Papa's Dumpling is a great spot for a casual meal with family. The prices are reasonable, and the food is solid overall. I especially enjoyed the seafood noodle soup — flavorful broth and fresh ingredients made it a standout. The black noodles were just okay; the noodles themselves lacked texture, but the sauces really elevated the dish. The restaurant is small inside, but cozy enough for a comfortable sit-down meal. It was very busy during lunch, which speaks to its popularity. One unique aspect is that customers clear their own plates, which means you save on tips — a nice touch for a quick, no-frills dining experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving dumplings or noodle soup!
